Read ledgers and record history
Trace a balance from a person or account back to its source and changes.
Follow a balance
Open an account from the chart to view its General Ledger activity. Customer ledger and supplier ledger views group credit activity, collections, payments, and running balances around the relevant party.

Use the date, journal, reference, and counterpart information to trace a line back to its source. A balance is the result of recorded activity, not a separately editable total.
Check Record history
Open a record and review Record history when you need to understand a change. It identifies lifecycle events such as creation, editing, posting, finalization, or cancellation.
When investigating a discrepancy, start with the report total, open the related ledger, then inspect the source record and its history. This path is faster and safer than changing entries until a report appears to agree.
